Zoo Lights

Brent took me to the zoo lights on Wednesday night (he's so sweet) and it was so fun! We had to wait in an extremely long line just to get in but it was so worth it. The zoo has some pretty impressive lights and they even have a row of trees that dance to Christmas music.
And last night was my bridal shower, which was of course fun! I got a lot of really cool presents and we played a really fun game. Thanks to everybody that helped and everybody who came and made it fun.

well, it offical, my dress is here, everything is ordered, we have a place to live, and the announcements will be sent on Monday. Our wedding is a month away and it is so crazy! We are so excited! Sometimes it feels like we have been engaged forever and then other times I think about it and realize that time is flyling by. It really is an unbelievable feeling to realize that in just a matter of weeks I will be sealed to Brent. It is kind of funny, at school when anybody finds out that I am engaged they first ask me how old I am and then, when I tell them I am 20, their next question is am I mormon. I think it is pretty funny. Thanks to my big sister, Brent and I have a new blog for when we are married, so after January 9th I will be posting on that one... its address is blskousen.blogspot.com so I hope everybody will check it out then!

Conference

Brent and I went to conference this last weekend. We had amazing seats in the conference center for both Saturday morning and afternoon session and then drove home all day Sunday. It was great, I love being there so close to the prophet. We also went to Brent's mission reunion Friday night. It was fun meeting all his old companions even tho I had huge swollen cheeks from having my wisdom teeth pulled. The oral surgeon that pulled my teeth said I get the swelling award because he has never seen anybody swell like I did. It was all around a quite the teeth pulling experience! The doctor also told me that 90% of the time he won't put stitches in, but I was bleeding so much he had to. And I was throwing up for three days afterwards because of the drugs they used to knock me out. Then to top it all off, I got a nasty infection in one of my incisions. So gross! Aren't wisdom teeth supposed to be a breeze? oh well, I'm just hoping that when I get my tonsils removed in a month it goes smoothly.

Despite all that, it was all around a great weekend. On the drive home it kind of snowed on us and we even stopped to have a picnic by Lake Powell. It was so fun being with Brent all weekend. I even had a lot of fun the whole 24 hours we were in the car together. Do we really have three more months till we get married?

This is just a little sneak peak of the engagement pictures my sister in law, Kate, took for us last Friday. I love them!! poor Brent got hit in the head with a board that morning at work and had a huge bump and was bleeding. Kate did a great job with the pictures and you can't even see it. We are so excited to be getting married and I swear I love that boy more everyday! We're getting married January 9th, 2010 and we hope everyone can make it!

Last Wednesday night it became official, Brent and I are getting married! I am so excited! Sometimes the thought that I get to spend forever with Brent will hit me and it's overwhelming how much I love him. I can't imagine what my life would be like with out that boy, and I can't wait to find out what the years ahead have in store for us.

This is how he asked me... We were at his house getting ready to leave to havisupi the next morning, so I was not expecting anything at all. Brent suggested that we should go on a bike ride while we waited for his laundry to finish (some of our friends were going on a bike ride that night too so I thought we were peddling around trying to find them). When we stopped at a park I didn't think it would be anything out of the ordinary, we go for bike rides all the time and I love it! We sat down and were talking for a little while at this park and Brent took a ring off of my hand that I had been wearing before and we just kept talking for a little while longer. I thought he was ready to go home because he asked me if I wanted my ring back, I was like "sure" and then he slipped this beautiful ring on my finger. My response was," That's not my ring", and then I asked at least five times if he was being serious. When I had finally calmed down a little bit he asked me to marry him and I of course said yes! His mom had no idea that he even had a ring so it was really fun to go back to his house and surprise his mom.oh, and his mom did teach me piano lessons all through out high school, and I didn't ever see brent there that whole time!

Havsupi was so fun and beautiful! It was a great way to celebrate our engagement!

For Memorial day Brent's dad took us flying. I am terrified of heights but I was not scared at all and loved it. We flew to payson and went to breakfast with his parents and hung out up there for a little while. I had so much fun!

Two weeks ago Michelle got married and I am so happy for her! Her wedding was beautiful and so much fun! The funniest/scariest part of the night was when I got forced into the whole catch the bouquet thing. I stood in the back thinking I would be safe there... the thing fell right into my hands right as Brent walked in the door! No joke I did not make any sort of effort to get it is just plopped right down!And yes in her wedding pictures I had to bend down because I was towering over everybody!

This last weekend I went with Brent and his family to Rocky Point. It was so fun! we built a sand castle, played in the ocean, went shopping and ate at some really cool places.Brent also dug my grave on the beach for when I get swine flu(thank goodness I really didn't get it!)I got sunburned for like the second time in my entire life. The whole time I was telling Brent I didn't need any sunscreen cause I never sunburn... turns out I do! I am so red! I learned my lesson from now on its sunscreen for me!

This last weekend I got to go down to Mexico to visit my favorite big sister Laurice! It was so fun I got to hang out with my favorite nephew and my favorite brother in law derrick and with Dallin who is in the picture roping with derrick. He took me on my first horse back ride and was nice enough to drive me down so that I could finally see where Reece lives. I had so much fun shoe shopping in Casas, having amazing jewelry made(I'll post pictures when I wear it), watching the boys rope and eating hot dogs and delicious Popsicles off a corner in Mexico. Not to mention Laurice is a great cook and I loved getting to eat her homemade enchiladas. It was great being able to see Laurice and everybody and just getting to spend time with them. I will definitely be coming down again as soon as I can! Thanks so much for letting me come and stay! Love you guys!

so this is a little behind in coming(I blame my dang strep throat!!!) But happy birthday to Michelle(my best friend) and Kate(my favorite sister in-law) Michelle turned twenty on Monday and then the following day it was Kate's turn! I hope both of you have a great next year! Michelle, its is scary to think what my life would be like without you!! From making silly feet on the beach to letting me cry on your shoulder, you were always there for me! Your the best! I hope your day was everything you deserve! Kate, Happy birthday! Adventures!!!

So on Friday I decided that it would be really fun to ride my bike to work...and oh was I right!! I suckered my friend Grego(his name is Greg but I call him gregO) to ride with me, and the poor kid had to ride home all by himself! ha! That's true friendship, considering he was on a pink beach cruiser and people were honking at us! Man did he look funny! It was absolutely the best part of my day though, the entire time I was laughing my head off!

Then on Saturday I went long boarding with James. It was defantily just as funny as riding my bike to work!! oh,the things I do! It was really fun though, we went down a pretty big hill and then I watched James almost kill himself going down some grassy hill at a park! James is 25 and not exactly what you would call a small guy, don't get me wrong, he is in no way fat, just a big guy! So to watch him ride down this hill and conpletly crash to the bottom rolling head over heels was hilarious!

Needless to say it was a really adventurous weekend! oh, and the picture up top is pretty old! I did not ride my bike to work in a dress and no my hair did not grow five inches!! I just had to get a good picture of my bicycle!!

Happy Birthday Daddio!!! Today my dad turned 42!! holly cow its kinda scary!! Dad, you have bailed me out of some very tricky situations and I owe alot to you! I hope your day was great! This is a picture of his new watch he got for his birthday!!

I usually don't do posts like this but I am going to make an exception today... Today was one of those days where everything seems to go wrong but you just have an great day. My day started at 6 this morning and I didn't get a break till 6 tonight! which would be fine its what I do every Tuesday and thursday; except last night when I was running I was on my third mile and my foot started hurting. It was weird but I just kept running and it eventually got to the point where I could hardly walk back to my car!! I feel like such a baby complaing like this! So needless to say, walking around all day was like a living hell, I almost cried trying to get back to my car after all of my classes! I like never cry from pain!! Its is swollend and bruised and hurts really bad.But despite the long day and painful foot, today was just one of those days were you feel like everything is okay. Life is great! No matter what happens life is good and beautiful and there will always be something good in your life! so I have decided to start looking for the good in life rather than dwell on the bad! sorry for the rambiling, I really dont like post like this but I just feel so happy I had to share!! So happy thursday to everybody!

Last friday I ate it hard core on my longboard! The night before my mom was telling me how she was shocked that I hadn't done that yet...the next morning I fell right on my face! It really was funny and in my defense was not completly my fault! My friend and I were ridding to english and we crashed into each other! It really was more funny than painful, but I did get some good scraps and these are five days old in this picture!!

So today I had great day(what a horrible and cheesy beginning!) Mr. Hottie pants in my institute class came and sat by me for the third time in a row and I conveniently "forgot" my book. First day of school!

Today was my first day at ASU... my third college and its only my third semester! I'm just trying them all out! But today was fun...and crazy!I had a horrible headache, for those of you who have lived with me know how sometimes I just get these crazy migraines that I can't do anything about.But other than that it was a good first day. I am taking 18 credits and working a kinda crazy schedule so it defiantly makes things crazy, but this next semester should be fun. My anatomy class is going to be awkward, the teacher made a disclaimer about the sensitive subjects we'll cover and we work with cadavers in the lab... I had a panic attack when I heard that! YIKES!

For a last little party before school and work starts we went on a little trip to Disneyland! However, while we where there we got a little California adventure we weren't expecting...an earthquake! It was the weirdest thing ever and it caused all of the rides to go down for about four hours, but it was defiantly an exciting part of the trip! Other than that we had went on tons of rides, waited in lines a lot and took a kissing test. You just hold on to a handle and then it rates your kisses, I did it 3 times and every time I had the lowest rating..."frigged"! so I did it one last time and I got "intoxicating" for my kiss rating! woo hoo! thats why I am doing a happy dance in one of the pictures! We had tons of fun and we are now ready to start school!oh, and I have to explain the last two pictures...The family had a little joke that I was in the bathroom for most of the time, and dad was sleeping waiting for me!

I got my hair done again on Thursday and I love it! Its dark and kinda a different cut than before and it is so much more fun!! I feel like dark hair is just so much more me. One person said "black like my soul"...I really hope they where just kidding!! oh, and then my mom came home the same day and she had just got her hair cut. Its kinda scary because our hair is almost, not quite, but almost the same cut!!

So I am finally home! woo hoo! I went scuba diving and got stung by five jelly fish! scary! Sadly I didn't take any pictures the whole time I was there, but really your not missing much...so on to my tag...

1. Not very many people know this but I love to draw...nobody ever really gets to see them either, but I love it
2. I still haven't lost all of my baby teeth! there are two teeth in my mouth that are missing permanent teeth so once they fall out I will get fake teeth
3. um... one more, I guess it would have to be that I never really get stressed about things, I am a pretty mellow, easy going person and never really get worked up.
Sometimes it is a problem for me, but hey it just makes life so much more fun!

Washington D.C.

Here are some of our pictures from Washington D.c.! It was so fun, it is a really crazy city with tons of old buildings and museums, which surprisingly where really fun! we got to see the factory where they print our money, a tour of the capital building, tons of museums, the Washington, Lincoln, and WWII monument, and got an awesome tie dye shirt! But the best parts of the trip where going to Arlington national Cemetery and the Holocaust museum. At the cemetery we got to watch the changing of the guard, it was cool to see how much respect the service men have for the tomb of the unknown solider. I have seen tons of pictures of the cemetery but you don't realize just how many graves there are until you go there and see row after row of white heads stones. The picture on my slide show is such a small part of the cemetery, yet still you can see tons of graves. The Holocaust museum really brought to life just how terrible it was for all of the people who had to live through it. You learn about it in school, but you just don't realize how horrible it really is until you see all of the things they had to go through.

so tomorrow morning me and the fam leave for Washington DC! I am way excited cause to be honest this is the farthest I have ever traveled in my life! I am a little nervous however because I am only taking a carry on bag, so I have to fit everything I need in a very small space and I can only take a sandwich bag amount of liquids and every bottle can only be 3 oz. and under! yikes!! So needless to say my hair is not going to look all that great while we are there because I am being forced into leaving all of my necessary products behind!So no laughing when I post pictures of the trip! Oh, and the picture above is of me cutting Lexis' guinea pigs hair so that he would be all ready for the neighbors that are going to be watching him! I'll admit I really enjoyed cutting his hair! Too bad I am not very good cause that would be such a fun job! cutting peoples hair not guinea pigs.

Happy Birthday to my big sister Laurice! I love you so much and hope that your birthday is great! You are and always have been an example to me. You really are an amazing person, best friend, mother(to Camden) and sister. We have had moments when we can't breath we are laughing so hard like the night in dad's office with the "snakes," learining to drive stick in your rodeo, countless blonde moments on my part, grandpa and his chair, and many many others come to mind. Okay, so this is a really random bunch of Pictures...but I had to show off my new hair, and let everybody see what I got to do yesterday for work!! We went to the ostrich farm... it was really cool, we fed the ostriches and deer and really these really cool birds, as you can see from the pictures they would come right up to you and sit on you! I was really nervous about feeding a ostrich right out of my hand...but after like 50 tries, I finally let one eat out of my hand and it was so cool!!

so... I had a great birthday! I went to a Sun's game, got my nails done, got a Zune, have great hair now, got a new book and came home to tons of hearts in my yard ( the family I work for I am pretty sure where the culprits...I am pretty sure they are the only ones who call me LaceyLacey bo bassy!) All in all, it was a great birthday and to top it all off I had an Oreo ice cream cake which are my two most favorite things...even though the ice cream makes me sick! thanks to everyone who made it a great day!

It seems that I have been commanded to post something so....yesterday I went to adopt a bunny! I was so excited to bring this little guy home (he is going to be named Mr. Darcy), and everybody in the car was just as excited as I was. The family that I work for came with me and the little kids wanted me to get that bunny so bad! but...I let the adoption people talk me out of it. I don't think they took me seriously and made it pretty clear that they did not want me to have this bunny! wow, I was just trying to do a good deed! but nothing to get to upset over I can go and get him on the 29th of march...I'll show them!

okay, so everybody is well aware of my fear of heights...I would pretty much rather do anything than have to deal with heights. But I went on a date last night and they came up with the brilliant plan to go repelling in the dark! I was freezing on top of an 100 foot cliff and about to walk off! YIKES! so needless to say...I have no pictures of the whole "experince" because the pants were scared off of me! ( and I had to do this twice and also got shot in the leg on this date!) It was fun!

Christmas is coming and I am so excited that i just had to say something! I am moving home in two weeks and then it will be like full on Christmas, especially because my mom is a Christmas fanatic and we have two Christmas trees in our house! I can hardly wait! oh and six facts about me... hmmm

1. I hate to admit it but i am the only girl in my family that is not a girly girl, i have always been a little more on the tom boyish side. Don't get me wrong, i wear makeup, like a good manicure and have quite a bit of clothes, but it is not like they are my favorite things in the world.

2. I really like to read...all sorts of books and one of my goals in life is to have a library in my house!

3. I don't like meat, I'm not a vegetarian...i eat meat occasionally cause i know i should, but i just don't like it! sorry derrick!

4. I love extreme sports, my favorite things to do are wake board and ride my dirt bike. I don't really like normal sports, they are fun..but i would much rather do something really interesting.

5. okay so i don't like meat but i love hot dogs, they are the best and i really don't even think they classify as meat.

6. Like Reece, i love to change my hair. my favorite thing to do is grow it out long and then cut it really short and change the color, i just like to mix things up a bit!

Saturday night me and my roommate Lydia went to a format acoustic concert and it was so cool! it was really mellow, but it was so good! I love their acoustic stuff! it was so fun!

so I just got a new job and I am so excited about it! I am going to be doing habilitation with a child in our neighborhood and working for a company called AZA United(that is their little symbol above!) pretty much my favorite thing is working with little kids so this is going to be a perfect job for me! and plus it pays really good! That is why I got to go down to the valley this weekend was for training! And not working at target is the best! I had the best day on Monday hanging out with Kilie! we had so much fun!!! but don't worry dad, I did all my homework!!

yesterday my mom and lex came up and we hung out here all day!! we got to do this cause dad is out hunting in Nova Scotia! so we decided we deserve a girls day! it was so fun! we went shopping down town, which has the coolest little shoppes and we even went into a haunted hotel, not like set up haunted, like full on really haunted! i was terrified, as was lex, but mom wasn't so much, but i have never seen my mom scared!! i don't know where i get it i am a scaredy pants!! and my mom bought me a pumpkin, which i am stoked about! i tried to get a picture up of it, but once again my camera has let me down! man! And this last weekend my family came up to hang out with me!! and they bought me a coat!! yes!! that is defiantly going to come in handy this winter! Thanks guys for everything...it was great seeing you this week!! love you all! oh and i decided that my family can not go anywhere with out drawing attention to ourselves! i think its because we think everything is way funny, so places like restaurants are bad, cause we usually cant help but laugh hysterically so the whole restaurant is staring at us! i love it!!!

peddling up hill both ways!

so today was quite the day for me and my bike, i was riding home from English and it was so windy, and it was blowing in the opposite direction i was going!!! i have to peddle up a hill to get home and with the wind today i literally couldn't peddle up the hill!! i can only imagine what i looked like to the people passing by! i was peddling with all my strength and going nowhere!! pretty funny, i must say! and then i have a night class and tonight it was raining so hard while i was walking home, but luckily i made it home before the hail started!!! goodness, where i come from the most weather we get is 100 degrees and clear skies! the picture really has nothing to do with this post, but it was a picture of me on my bike! my camera is not working right now!!!

so my favorite food is olives, and my mom just sent me some, thanks mom!!! look how much fun we are having with the olives!! its the small things in life that you really learn to apprecitate when everything else stinks!!! and when you live in a small town with no car... things that never where fun or funny for that matter suddenly are extreemly entertaning and funny! michelle was crackin me up in this picture cause you cant see it but i have olive juce running down my arm like every where! oh and as a side note its supposed to snow on the moutains tonight!! yikes!!
